3-Unit Play: Take 902 CHICAGO CUBS -1.5 RL, OVER MARLINS (2:20pm E, Friday, August 5) The Cubs, after wrapping up a series with their bitter rivals, St Louis, come back to the friendly confines of Wrigley to take on the Marlins. The Marlins are the better team, but the Cubs seem to shine on these Friday afternoon home games. The wind is blowing in from right field, so it most likely won't be a game full of home runs, but the Cubs have been playing good small ball lately and with Steele on the mound with his 3.86 ERA against a player to be determined, for the Marlins, look for Chicago to win this one for their fans.

Alek Manoah struggled his last time out but before that start he had been rock solid with 4 straight quality starts. His opponent is Sonny Gray, and he has had a good season, but I do not trust him against the better teams in the league. Toronto is 10-2 in their last 12 games against right-handed starting pitchers. The Blue Jays are 31-15 in their last 46 games in the Twin Cities.

But, with Blackburn and his 4.16 ERA on the hill (he's better than that and with a lot of experience, especially compared to Junk) and Jansen Junk on the mound for the A's with his only start being a good one: 6 innings pitched and 0 earned runs. We expect a different outcome with this outing of Junk and look for the A's to tee off on him.

With Stanton out (he may be back this week, but last word is, he won't be in today's lineup), and ZacK Britton recovering from Tommy John Surgery, and Luis Castillo and his 2.81 ERA on the mound, we like the Mariners to win back-to-back games in New York and we'll take the good value, to boot.

Offensively, George Springer has 11 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs and 36 RBI and Alejandro Kirk is 12-for-31 with a double and four home runs over the last 10 games. Both of tonight’s starting pitchers have struggled, but this is a fade against JT Brubaker, as he is 1-7 on the season and does not get much run support to speak of. 4 Unit Play. Take #904 Cincinnati Reds (-1.5 RL) -105 over Washington Nationals (1:40pm, Sunday, June 5) The Reds have become a different team and with the right man on the hill, they seem to put up big offensive numbers. The Nationals have a 2-1 lead in this series and they don't have any business having a series lead over any team in baseball. Today, Patrick Corbin and his 6.96 ERA starts on the mound against the Reds' ace, Louis Castillo and his 3.37. This series will end up 2-2 and the Reds' will be off to bigger and better things. 7 Unit Play. Take #959 San Francisco Giants -105 over Miami Marlins (4:10pm, Saturday, June 4 MLB.tv) We will back Logan Webb this afternoon in Miami as game 3 of their series takes place at LoanDepot Park. The Giants scored 15 runs last night and look for their bats to stay hot today against Pablo Lopez. He has been hit hard in 2 of his last 3 starts and Miami has been a terrible team after a hot start to the season. San Francisco is 38-14 in their last 52 road games against teams with a losing record. Miami is 5-17 in their last 22 games against right handed starters. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports

5 Unit Play. Take #968 New York Yankees -1.5 RL, -155 over Detroit Tigers (1:05pm, Saturday, June 4 MLB.tv) The Yankees, along with the Dodgers, are as good as they get in the Major Leagues. They don't need a lot of reasons, after blowing the Tigers out yesterday 13-0, to explain anything. Today, Beau Brieske and his 5.25 ERA is up against Luis Severino and his 3.38 ERA, and Judge coming off a 4-hit game - It almost doesn't seem fair, but that's baseball in the Majors.

4 Unit Play. Take #967 Over 8.5 in Detroit Tigers @ New York Yankees (1:05p.m., Saturday, June 4 MLB.tv) The Yankees are hitting and the Tigers are no strangers to it. We don't think this game will be close, but we do think there'll be a lot of runs, especially with the wind blowing out, in a day game, at 9mph. The scoreboard should light up again today.

4 Unit Play. Take #902 CHICAGO CUBS OVER ST LOUIS CARDINALS (2:20pm E, Friday, June 3 MLB Network) This is one of the best rivalries in baseball and the Cardinals just have a knack of bringing out the best in the Cubs. In this series, throw away records and stats, because, like many great rivalries in sports, they don't seem to matter much. The Cubs have a 3-game home winning streak, and we think that, and the fans, will carry them to an afternoon win today. On the hill is Stroman and his 3.95 ERA, for the Cubs, and Mikolas and his 2.67 ERA for the Cards. The wind is blowing left to right at 10mph, so we see this as a pitcher's duel and we really like Stroman. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports

4 Unit Play. Take #970 BALTIMORE ORIOLES -105 OVER SEATTLE MARINERS (7:05pm E, Thursday, June 2) We're coming right back with the Orioles again today, after an impressive 9-2 victory yesterday. They are tough at home and have beaten some good teams at home and we think they're starting to find themselves. Jordan Lyles takes his .442 ERA against the Mariners' Chris Flexen and his .447 ERA. The WHIPs are fairly even at 1.41 and 1.42 respectively. Look for the same offensive stars as yesterday and throw in Urias, Santander and Mancini to provide power today.

4-Unit Play: Take 922 BALTIMORE ORIOLES OVER MARINERS (7:05pm E, Wednesday, June 1) The Orioles were beaten by the Mariners yesterday 10-0. They are much too good of a hitting team and have beaten too many good teams at home, to let that happen again. Look for Kyle Bradish to have one of his best games of the year and improve on his, un-like-him 7.31 ERA and for Austin Hays and Ramon Urias , and others, to provide the hitting power for Baltimore.

4-Unit Play: Take 915 KC ROYALS OVER GUARDIANS (1:10pm E, Wednesday, June 1) The Royals are ranked 9th in getting players on base, but they haven't been getting the key hits to knock them in. They lost to the Guardians yesterday, after giving up 6 runs early, but they kept fighting and we think Matheney is too good of a manager to let this continue. He'll shake things up today and with Brad Keller and his 3.95 ERA, look for the Royals to pull this out today.

3-Unit Play: Take 966 DETROIT TIGERS OVER MINNESOTA TWINS, GM 1 (1:10pm E, Tuesday, May 31) We like Detroit, again, in this first game of a doubleheader, for almost the same reason we liked them yesterday: the offense has been ticking, as the Tiger bats are starting to heat up. The difference today is, you have two terrific pitchers on the mound: Devin Smeltzer and his 1.04 ERA for the Twins and Rony Garcia and his 3.00 ERA for the Tigers and both pitchers with their WHIP in the 80s, so we're going to go with the hot, home team and count on the Tiger's offense to be the difference. Toronto is starting Manoah (5-1, 1.62 ERA) on the hill against the Angels' Silseth (2-1, 1.73 ERA). We like the Blue Jays in this one, with Vlad Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette leading the offense and Manoa keeping the Angels' bats quiet. Best of Luck – Doc’s Sports
