12-10-24 Maple Leafs v. Devils -129 2-1 Loss -129 10 h 7 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Toronto Maple Leafs have cooled down recently, dropping two straight bouts. This includes a road loss against a mediocre Penguins squad on Saturday. The New Jersey Devils have won six of their past nine games.  Toronto has not been scoring enough goals to win games recently, especially against good opponents such as the Devils. Toronto have netted three or fewer goals in six of their past eight games. Despite being shut out on Sunday, New Jersey has managed to score 18 goals in their past five games. The Maple Leafs have been shaky on the road. They have only won four of 11 road games on the season.

12-10-24 Avalanche v. Penguins +142 6-2 Loss -100 10 h 2 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Colorado defense has struggled, allowing 3.55 goals per game. Cale Makar and Samuel Girard have combined for 9.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.

12-04-24 Golden Knights v. Ducks +1.5 4-1 Loss -167 8 h 27 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Vegas beat Anaheim 3-1 at home in their first meeting of the season on October 13. A month later, the Golden Knights edged out the Ducks 3-2 at Honda Center. Vegas outshot Anaheim 39-24 the last time they met, and Lukas Dostal kept the Ducks in the game with 36 saves. Ilya Samsonov met the Ducks in October and yielded one goal on 23 shots. Samsonov has struggled lately, surrendering a whopping 22 goals over his previous five starts. Hereof, I think the Ducks will be able to make this game interesting to watch. Vegas will have to deal with fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back, coming off a tough home matchup against Edmonton.  Whoever gets the starting call for Anaheim will give the Ducks a chance of upsetting the odds.

12-04-24 Stars v. Kings +100 2-3 Win 100 8 h 21 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kings are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.04 goals per game. Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe have scored 20 goals and 33 assists but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Alex Laferriere, Kevin Fiala, and Trevor Moore have combined for 24 goals and 27 assists while defensemen Brandt Clarke and Vladislav Gavrikov have added five goals and 22 assists from the point to open up the offense. The offense has stepped up but the defense has carried them, allowing only 2.68 goals per game with only four goals in the last three games. Vladislav Gavrikov and Michael Anderson have combined for 7.9 defensive point shares while Joel Edmundson, Brandt Clarke, and Jordan Spence have combined for 8.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit.

12-03-24 Canucks v. Wild -134 2-3 Win 100 6 h 25 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

This will be a great game between two of the best teams in the NHL. The Canucks look to win their third game in a row but the Wild look to step up on their home ice. The Wild, who average 3.21 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Wild, who allow only 2.33 goals per game, should limit the Canucks offense with Brock Faber, Jonas Brodin, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Filip Gustavsson to make plenty of big saves. The Wild should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. Take the Wild money line as home Favorites.

12-03-24 Red Wings v. Bruins -181 2-3 Win 100 8 h 10 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Red Wings look to pull off the upset but the Bruins look to take over this game on their home ice and dominate from the first period. The Bruins should pile on the goals against the Red Wings, who allow 3.17 goals per game, with David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Bruins should limit the Red Wings offense, which averages only 2.63 goals per game, with Charlie McAvoy, Nikita Zadorov, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jeremy Swayman to make plenty of big saves.

12-03-24 Panthers v. Penguins +153 4-5 Win 153 8 h 7 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Florida Panthers have been mediocre recently, posting a 4-6 record in their past 10 games. The Pittsburgh Penguins are playing their best hockey of the season, winning three straight bouts. They beat the Canucks and Bruins in that span. The Panthers have not been nearly as sharp defensively this season. Bobrovsky has not been at his best as seen in his .890 save % on the season. The Panthers have squandered an average of 3.4 goals in their past 10 bouts and have given up the sixth most goals in the NHL. Pittsburgh is clicking, netting 13 goals in their past three games.

12-01-24 Senators v. Ducks +150 3-4 Win 150 10 h 41 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Anaheim Ducks continue a homestand spanning four games. Anaheim has not been able to find a groove this season but is only four points out of a playoff spot. This is a young roster capable of breaking out. They are playing just under .500 hockey this season. The group posted a dominating 5-2 road win against the Kraken on Wednesday and dealt a 2-1 home defeat by the Kings on Friday.

11-30-24 Sabres v. Islanders -120 0-3 Win 100 8 h 59 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Buffalo Sabres are playing better but have only won five of 10 road games on the season. I expect a desperate Islanders team here who need some wins before they dip too far out of a playoff spot. They were competitive in a tough OT loss against the Capitals on Friday. The Sabres have not been scoring many goals which is not ideal against an Islanders squad that is usually sharp defensively. Buffalo has only scored 11 goals in its last five games. The Sabres will have backup James Reimer in the cage. He has a weak 3.67 GAA.  The Islanders already beat the Sabres 4-3 last month and I expect another win.

11-30-24 Maple Leafs v. Lightning +123 5-3 Loss -100 8 h 40 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Lightning are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.81 goals per game. Nikita Kucherov and Brandon Hagel have scored 21 goals and 38 assists but the entire offense has been great. Anthony Cirelli, Jake Guentzel, and Brayden Point have combined for 33 goals and 30 assists while Victor Hedman and JJ Moser have added six goals and 21 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

11-30-24 Flames v. Penguins -114 2-6 Win 100 8 h 34 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The home team has won each of the Flames' last 11 games. The Flames have lost each of their last six road games. The home team has covered the puck line in eight of the Flames' last nine games. The Flames have failed to cover the puck line in nine of their last 11 road games against Metropolitan Division opponents.

11-30-24 Senators v. Kings -114 2-5 Win 100 8 h 31 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Senators have two wins in a row and look to pull off the upset but the Kings look to take over this one on their home ice. The Kings should create plenty of scoring chances with Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Kings, who allow only 2.78 goals per game, should limit the Senators offense with Michael Anderson, Brandt Clarke, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender David Rittich to make plenty of big saves. The Kings should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice.

11-29-24 Flames v. Blue Jackets -105 2-5 Win 100 5 h 40 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

It’s an interconference clash on the ice as a pair of teams looking to move up the standings in their respective divisions take the ice in the Buckeye State. The Calgary Flames are on the road as they travel to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday afternoon. Calgary comes in off a 2-1 overtime loss to Detroit in their previous contest Wednesday night. Columbus was downed 4-3 in overtime at home by Montreal in their previous game Wednesday night. In the last 10 meetings between the teams, the Flames own a 7-3 advantage but the Blue Jackets have won two straight matchups. That includes a 5-2 road win in the most recent matchup on January 24, 2024.

11-27-24 Jets v. Kings -105 1-4 Win 100 7 h 21 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Los Angeles will look to some of its most veteran players to help turn things around against Winnipeg. Anze Kopitar has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in his past seven games. He already has accumulated 25 points for the 19th time in his career, becoming the 32nd NHL player to accomplish that feat. Adrian Kempe had two assists against the Sharks for his 77th multipoint game, tying Jari Kurri for the 19th-most multipoint games in team history.

11-27-24 Canucks v. Penguins +101 4-5 Win 101 5 h 59 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Canucks are going to be on tired legs here after a tough game on Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins. Two games ago against the Ottawa Senators, the Canucks were able to secure the 4-3 victory. Jake DeBrusk scored two goals and added one assist. Kevin Lankien started in goal and saved 26 of the 29 shots that he faced. The Canucks on the season are averaging 3.21 goals while their defense is giving up 3.21 goals per game. The offense is ranked 14th in the league while the defense is ranked 23rd. Quinn Hughes has scored four goals and added 15 assists. On tired legs the one thing that can’t happen is they fall behind.

11-27-24 Maple Leafs +135 v. Panthers 1-5 Loss -100 5 h 54 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Toronto Maple Leafs have won four straight games. The Florida Panthers have lost four straight games. Toronto is 7-1-0 in its past eight games. Florida is 1-6-0 in its past seven. On Wednesday night, those trends will be tested as the Panthers will host the Leafs in Sunrise, Fla. Oddly, Toronto is on this hot streak despite playing without seven-time All-Star Auston Matthews, who had led the NHL in goals in three of the previous four years.

11-25-24 Seattle Kraken v. Ducks +138 3-2 Loss -100 7 h 49 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kraken will be without forward Jordan Eberle, their captain, for the next three months after he underwent surgery on his pelvis Friday. The Ducks lost 3-2 in overtime Friday at home to the Buffalo Sabres, ending Anaheim's three-game winning streak.

11-25-24 Red Wings v. Islanders -143 4-2 Loss -143 4 h 25 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Islanders have won two of their last three home games while the Red Wings have lost three straight road games. New York doesn’t have a high-scoring offense, but they’re playing well offensively, scoring 10 goals in their last three home games. They also played well on special teams, converting 25 percent of their power play opportunities during that stretch. The Red Wings are the worst in the league in penalty kills and they’re not playing well defensively, giving up 15 goals in their last three road games, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Islanders.

11-23-24 Blues v. Islanders -154 1-3 Win 100 8 h 2 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Winning faceoffs show a massive ability to control the puck and dominate the game. The Blues are 23rd in the NHL with a 48.3 faceoff win percentage while the Islanders are best in the sport with a 55.5 faceoff win percentage. These defenses have been playing well but there is a difference lately as St. Louis is allowing 3.2 goals in their previous five games while New York is giving up 2.25 goals in their last four games played. All in all, go with the New York Islanders to win at home here.

11-23-24 Devils v. Capitals +125 3-2 Loss -100 8 h 40 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

This will be a great game between two of the best teams in the NHL. The Devils look to control this game but the Capitals look to step up on their home ice and take over this one. The Capitals, who average 4.16 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Dylan Strome, Connor McMichael, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with quick passes. The Capitals, who allow only 2.74 goals per game, should limit the Devils' offense, with John Carlson, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Logan Thompson to make plenty of big saves. The Capitals should win the game and provide great odds in the process as home Underdogs.

11-23-24 Utah Hockey Club v. Penguins +119 6-1 Loss -100 8 h 37 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Utah offense has let them down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 3.32 goals per game. Michael Kesselring and Mikhail Sergachev have combined for 5.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will.

11-23-24 Seattle Kraken v. Kings -159 1-2 Win 100 5 h 47 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kings have won two of their last three home games while the Kraken have lost four straight road games. Los Angeles has the advantage in this game because they’ve played well offensively at home where they scored nine goals in their last three games. They haven’t been as good on special teams, converting 14 percent of their power play opportunities. The Kraken usually play well defensively, but they struggled in recent road games, giving up 11 goals in their last three road games, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Kings. The Kraken won’t be as successful offensively because they struggled in recent road games, scoring only three goals in their last three road games, all of which came in their last road game. They’ve also struggled on special teams, converting 16 percent of their power play opportunities. The Kings played well in recent home games, giving up only four goals in their last three home games, so expect them to keep Seattle’s offense in check. Go with Los Angeles to cover the money line.

11-23-24 Wild v. Flames +123 3-4 Win 123 5 h 45 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Flames have won four straight home games while the Wild have won three of their last four road games. Minnesota has the edge offensively because they’re playing well at the moment, scoring seven goals in their last three home games. They’ve also done a good job on special teams, converting 20 percent of their power play opportunities during that stretch. The Wild are 21st in the league in penalty kills and they gave up seven goals in their last three road games, so expect the Flames to play well offensively. Even though the Wild play well offensively, expect them to struggle in this game because the Flames are playing very well, killing six straight penalties in their last three games while giving up only three goals. Go with Calgary to cover the money line.

11-22-24 Sabres v. Ducks +134 3-2 Loss -100 9 h 6 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Sabres have looked promising but the Ducks have won three games in a row and look to take over this game from the first period. The Ducks should pile on the goals against the Sabres, who allow 3.21 goals per game, with Troy Terry, Leo Carlsson, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Ducks should limit the Sabres offense with Brian Dumoulin, Radko Gudas, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Lukas Dostal to make plenty of big saves. The Ducks should win the game and provide great odds in the process as home Underdogs.

11-22-24 Jets v. Penguins +159 4-1 Loss -100 6 h 8 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Pittsburgh is given a 56.88% win probability, equating to implied odds of 1.76 (-132), while Winnipeg’s win probability is 43.12%, translating to odds of 2.32 (+132). This significant divergence suggests value on Pittsburgh at the current market price, especially if their offensive dominance can capitalize on any defensive lapses from the Jets.

11-21-24 Panthers v. Blackhawks +1.5 1-3 Win 100 9 h 5 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Florida Panthers just played the Jets and have the Avalanche after this one. They could be looking past a weak Blackhawks squad in anticipation of the bout against the Avalanche. The Blackhawks have been competitive, going 4-6 in their previous ten games. They have beaten the Avalanche and Wild in that span. The Florida offense has cooled down, scoring three or fewer goals in three of its previous four games. The Blackhawks' defensive play has improved compared to last season. They have been keeping opponents in check. The Blackhawks have conceded three or fewer goals in four of their previous five bouts. Their goalies Mrazek and Soderblom have save percentages of .906 and .926.

11-21-24 Avalanche v. Capitals +125 2-1 Loss -100 8 h 44 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Washington will be playing without its leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin, but the Capitals scored 78 goals in 18 games to lead the NHL in goals 4 at 4.3 per game. The Capitals have the 9th best goals against average at 2.8. In contrast,Colorado's goals for averages 3.4 but its goals against average is one higher per game than Washington’s at 3.8, which is 31st or next to last. This poor goals against average for Colorado is despite the Avalanche allowing the second fewest shots per game (25.1). The goalies for Colorado are performing poorly between the pipes. Washington has won four of the last five and the Capitals have won seven of the last nine played on their home ice.

11-21-24 Hurricanes +108 v. Devils 2-4 Loss -100 8 h 38 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Hurricanes are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 4.00 goals per game. Martin Necas and Andrei Svechnikov have scored 17 goals and 29 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Sebastian Aho, Eric Robinson, and Jesperi Kotkaniemi have combined for 11 goals and 27 assists while defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere has added four goals and nine assists from the point to open up the offense. The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.41 goals per game.

11-20-24 Sabres v. Kings -146 1-0 Loss -146 12 h 33 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kings allow just 25.1 shots per game. Their blue line has done a great job so far, and David Rittich has been surprisingly solid. On the other side, the Sabres give up 29.4 shots per game. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen’s eventual return would be a huge boost, but the Kings still look like a better defensive team than the Sabres. Buffalo just put on a disappointing performance against the Flyers. The Sabres miss Tage Thompson a lot, and their offense will slow down. The Kings can count on all of their important forwards, so I’m backing Los Angeles to satisfy the odds.

11-20-24 Golden Knights v. Maple Leafs -123 0-3 Win 100 8 h 28 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

This will be a great game between two of the best teams in the NHL. The Golden Knights look to pull off the upset but the Maple Leafs look to take over this one on their home ice. The Maple Leafs, who average 3.05 goals per game, should pile on the goals against the Golden Knights, who allow 3.17 goals per game, with Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Maple Leafs, who allow only 2.63 goals per game, should limit the Golden Knights offense with Jake McCabe, Morgan Rielly, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Anthony Stolarz to make plenty of big saves. The Maple Leafs should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. Take the Maple Leafs money line as home Favorites.

11-19-24 Lightning v. Penguins +137 3-2 Loss -100 6 h 4 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Tampa will likely rely on their defense to suppress chances and stay within striking distance, but their offense lacks the firepower to keep pace if this game turns into a shootout. Given the value presented by Pittsburgh’s odds, combined with their offensive dominance and home-ice advantage, the Penguins emerge as the smarter bet.

11-18-24 Blue Jackets +170 v. Bruins 5-1 Win 170 7 h 52 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Bruins are having a rocky season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.47 goals per game. David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and Elias Lindholm have scored 15 goals and 24 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have four goals or more and opponents can eliminate the top-heavy offense as a result. The offense has struggled but the defense has also let the Bruins down, allowing 3.37 goals per game.

11-17-24 Capitals +113 v. Golden Knights 5-2 Win 113 8 h 27 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Capitals are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 4.19 goals per game with 16 goals in the last three games. Dylan Strome, Alexander Ovechkin, and Connor McMichael have scored 27 goals and 36 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Aliaksei Protas, Tom Wilson, and Pierre-Luc Dubois have combined for 13 goals and 26 assists while defensemen John Carlson and Rasmus Sandin have added five goals and 16 assists from the point to open up the offense. The offense has carried the Capitals but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.88 goals per game.

11-16-24 Stars v. Wild +134 2-1 Loss -100 9 h 9 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Minnesota's starting goalie Filip Gustavsson has a 2.08 goals against average and .924 save percentage. Gustavsson is 4th in goals against average and 7th in save percentage in the NHL. In comparison, Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger is 9th in GAA (2.39) and 13th SV% (.914). Dallas has struggled on the road, losing six of its last 9 away from its home ice. Minnesota has won 10 of its last 13 games and the Wild have won four of the last six played on their home ice. This is the first meeting between the two this season. Minnesota left wing Kirill Kapirzov has 10 goals and 20 assists. Kaprizov’s 30 points is second in the NHL and he leads the league in plus/minus (16).

11-16-24 Sharks v. Penguins -191 3-4 Win 100 8 h 16 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Sharks are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.33 goals per game. Mikael Grandlund, Fabian Zetterlund, and Tyler Toffoli have combined for 20 goals and 22 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only three skaters have four goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result. The offense has let the Sharks down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 3.39 goals per game. Cody Ceci and Jake Walman have combined for 4.4 defensive point share.

11-16-24 Blue Jackets +110 v. Canadiens 1-5 Loss -100 8 h 13 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Canadiens are having a rough season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.71 goals per game. Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Juraj Slafkovsky have scored 17 goals and 22 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have scored four goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result. The offense has struggled but the defense has let them down, allowing 4.06 goals per game including 37 goals in the last eight games.

11-15-24 Capitals +155 v. Avalanche 5-2 Win 155 9 h 56 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Capitals are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 4.13 goals per game with 11 goals in the last two games. Dylan Strome and Alexander Ovechkin have scored 15 goals and 27 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Connor McMichael, Aliaksei Protas, and Tom Wilson have combined for 22 goals and 22 assists while defensemen John Carlson and Rasmus Sandin have added four goals and 15 assists from the point to open up the offense. The offense has carried them but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.93 goals per game.

11-14-24 Flyers v. Senators -167 5-4 Loss -167 9 h 32 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Philadelphia Flyers have been a little better recently but have dropped three of their last five games. The Flyers have only managed three wins in eight road games. The Ottawa Senators definitely have more talent and are clicking at home, winning three of their previous four home bouts. Ottawa is gaining momentum. The Senators have won two games in a row against solid opposition, beating the Bruins and Maple Leafs on the road. The Flyers continue to struggle defensively. They have given up 14 goals in their last four games. The goaltending is among the worst and the Senators generate a ton of shots, averaging 32 shots on goal per game, good for second.

11-13-24 Golden Knights v. Ducks +200 3-2 Loss -100 10 h 22 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off Monday’s 5-2 defeat to the Carolina Hurricanes. It was their second loss in a row, as the Golden Knights lost at the Seattle Kraken 4-3 in overtime this past Friday. After blowing a two-goal lead in Seattle, the Golden Knights didn’t stand a chance against the Hurricanes, who had a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period and a 4-0 lead at the end of the second. Carolina outshot Vegas 34-32 and netted five goals despite going 0-for-4 with the man advantage. Adin Hill yielded four goals on 21 shots before he was pulled off last Monday.

11-13-24 Red Wings v. Penguins -135 3-2 Loss -135 8 h 1 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Pittsburgh hit rock bottom on Monday vs. the Stars in a 7-1 home loss, so there's only one way to go from here. Dubas has already called the team out saying everyone is on the trade block except for Crosby, so I expect a half-decent effort here on home ice. The Red Wings may be the perfect opponent as they've dropped two straight and they are 30th in goals per game, and 31st in shots on goal. If the Pens can't find a way to limit this offense, well then, so be it. I'll take the bounce-back angle here with the Pens on home ice.

11-13-24 Maple Leafs v. Capitals -134 4-3 Loss -134 8 h 58 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Capitals are having a great season and they look to take over this game on their home ice. The Capitals, who average 4.21 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Alexander Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Capitals, who allow only 2.86 goals per game, should limit the Maple Leafs offense with John Carlson, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Charlie Lindgren to make plenty of big saves. The Capitals should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. Take the Capitals money line as home Favorites.

11-12-24 Blue Jackets +145 v. Seattle Kraken 2-5 Loss -100 11 h 45 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kraken are having a rough season with their offense letting the m down and scoring only 2.87 goals per game. Jared McCann, Matty Beniers, and Jordan Eberle have scored 16 goals and 19 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have four goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result. The offense has struggled but the defense has let them down, allowing 3.20 goals per game. Ryker Evans and Brandon Montour have combined for 4.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.

11-12-24 Islanders +198 v. Oilers 3-4 Loss -100 10 h 40 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Edmonton snapped a two-game losing skid as they rolled past Vancouver on the road in their previous game Saturday night. The Oilers entered Monday 7-7-1 on the season and stood fifth in the Pacific Division, six points behind the Kings for the top spot. Edmonton comes into this one 22nd in the league in goals per game as they average 2.67 goals per contest. The Oilers stand tied for 20th in goals against as they allow 3.20 goals per night. Edmonton stands 25th in power play success as they cash in 15.8% of their chances with the man advantage on the year. The Oilers are 32nd in penalty killing as they successfully get through only 59% of their shorthanded situations on the year. New York enters this game 3-1-1 in their last five games .

11-11-24 Hurricanes -135 v. Golden Knights 5-2 Win 100 9 h 8 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Hurricanes are without veteran goalie Frederik Andersen due to a lower-body injury. Pyotr Kochetkov got a day off on Saturday and should return to the crease in Las Vegas. Kochetkov has gone 7-1-0 with a 2.51 GAA and a .896 save percentage this season. Carolina allows 2.62 goals per game (6th in the NHL) while scoring 4.15 goals in return (4th). The Canes are 10-for-41 with the man advantage (tied-8th) and 43-for-51 with the man down (7th). Martin Necas leads the way for Carolina with eight goals and 15 assists across 13 games. He’s found the back of the net in five of his last six appearances.

11-11-24 Kings -130 v. Flames 1-3 Loss -130 7 h 30 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Los Angeles is playing very well as the Kings have taken hold first place in the Pacific Division with a one-point lead over the Vegas Golden Knights. Los Angeles is getting it done at both ends of the ice with a 3.3 goals for average and 2.9 goals against average. The Kings are holding opponents to just 25.3 shots per game which is third lowest in the NHL. Los Angeles is only 23rd in the power play and 17th in the penalty kill but faces a Calgary team that is only 22nd in the power play and a disappointing 28th on the penalty kill. Los Angeles has won eight of its last 12 overall and the Kings have won four of the last six played on the road. Calgary in comparison has lost seven of its last nine overall. The Los Angeles duo in goal of David Rittich and Darcy Kuemper have been very strong with 2.67 and 2.72 GAA’s respectively.

11-11-24 Stars v. Penguins +142 7-1 Loss -100 6 h 14 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Stars hope their offense improves, scoring only 2.92 goals per game. Matt Duchene, Logan Stankoven, and Tyler Seguin have scored 15 goals and 22 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have four goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

11-11-24 Sharks +240 v. Flyers 3-4 Loss -100 6 h 3 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Flyers offense has struggled but the defense has also disappointed, allowing 3.60 goals per game. Travis Sanheim and Rasmus Ristolainen have combined for 4.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Samuel Ersson has struggled with a .902 save percentage and a 2.69 goals-against average on 234 shots.

11-10-24 Blue Jackets +107 v. Ducks 2-4 Loss -100 9 h 3 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Ducks coach Greg Cronin said his team's frustration is "at a super-high level" heading into Anaheim's tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Ducks, who have scored a league-low 27 goals in 13 games (4-7-2), bring a four-game losing streak into the contest. They have dropped the first three outings of a six-game homestand, getting outscored 14-5 in the process.

11-10-24 Sharks +1.5 v. Devils 1-0 Win 115 8 h 57 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Sharks are playing better of late by going 4-2-0 in their past six contests following a season-opening nine-game skid (0-7-2). San Jose began its marginal improvement with a 5-4 overtime win at the Utah Hockey Club on Oct. 28 before getting home wins over the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks.

11-09-24 Devils v. Islanders +125 4-3 Loss -100 10 h 35 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The New York Islanders have quietly put together a solid stretch of their own, winners of three of their last four games heading into Saturday night's game. The Islanders improved to 6-6-2 on Thursday night thanks to a 4-2 win over the Senators in Ottawa. The Islanders jumped out to a 3-0 lead but had to hang on down the stretch to preserve the win. Bo Horvat had two assists and scored the empty net goal to clinch the victory for the Isles on the road. Goalie Semyon Varlamov was sharp in net, saving 28-of-30 shots.

11-09-24 Capitals -114 v. Blues 8-1 Win 100 9 h 9 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Blues look to step up at home but the Capitals are having a great season and I see them taking over this game on both ends of the ice. The Capitals, who average 4.08 goals per game, should pile on the goals against the Blues, who allow 3.14 goals per game, with Alexander Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Capitals should limit a Blues' offense that averages only 2.64 goals per game with John Carlson, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Logan Thompson to make plenty of big saves. The Capitals should win the game in a dominant performance on the road.

11-08-24 Red Wings v. Maple Leafs -180 1-3 Win 100 7 h 10 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Maple Leafs are having a great season and they look to step up and take over this game from the first period. The Maple Leafs, who average 3.07 goals per game, should pile on the goals against the Red Wings, who allow 3.00 goals per game, with William Nylander, Mitch Marner, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Maple Leafs, who allow only 2.79 goals per game, should limit the Red Wings' offense with Jake McCabe, Morgan Rielly, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Anthony Stolarz to make plenty of big saves.

11-07-24 Canucks v. Kings +106 4-2 Loss -100 11 h 30 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Both teams have been playing very well of late, and we should see a tight battle in their first meeting of the season. They defend well with the man down and struggle to score with the man advantage. I’ve mentioned the Kings’ numbers. The Canucks are 22nd in the league in power-play percentage (6-for-36) and 12th in penalty-killing percentage (28-for-34). I’m going with the Kings only because their blueline has done a great job thus far. Los Angeles allows just 2.86 goals per game even though the Kings’ goaltending duo ranks 20th in save percentage. The Kings have only allowed 357 shots across 14 games.

11-07-24 Wild v. Sharks +1.5 5-2 Loss -115 10 h 24 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The San Jose Sharks have won four of their previous five games overall. After stopping a three-game winning streak with a 3-2 defeat to the Vancouver Canucks, the Sharks edged the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 in overtime this past Tuesday. The Sharks prevailed over the Blue Jackets despite being outshot 50-27 on the night. Vitek Vanecek posted a whopping 49 saves, and Alex Wennberg scored his third goal of the season to lift San Jose over Columbus in overtime.

11-07-24 Sabres v. Rangers OVER 6 6-1 Win 100 7 h 40 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Buffalo offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.31 goals per game. Rasmus Dahlin and Bowen Byram have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.  The Rangers are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 4.00 goals per game.

11-06-24 Golden Knights v. Oilers -144 4-2 Loss -144 8 h 52 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Oilers have won four of their last six games while the Golden Knights have lost four straight road games. Edmonton has the edge offensively because they are playing well at the moment, scoring nine goals in their last three games. They’re also playing well on special teams, converting 20 percent of their power play opportunities in their last two games. The Golden Knights aren’t very good at killing penalties and they gave up 14 goals in their last three road games, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Oilers in this game. The Golden Knights won’t be as successful offensively. They scored nine goals in their last three road games but they’re struggling on special teams, converting only 16 percent of their power play opportunities in their last three games. The Oilers are playing very well defensively and gave up six goals in their last three home games, so expect them to keep Vegas’ offense in check.

11-06-24 Red Wings v. Blackhawks +106 4-1 Loss -100 7 h 27 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Red Wings' offense has struggled but the defense has also been a disappointment, allowing 3.18 goals per game. Moritz Seider and Simon Edvinsson have combined for 2.8 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease.

11-06-24 Predators v. Capitals -114 2-3 Win 100 7 h 31 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Capitals are having a great season and they look to take over this game from the first period. The Capitals, who average 4.18 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Alexander Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Capitals should limit a Predators offense that has only scored eight goals in the last four games with John Carlson, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Charlie Lindgren to make plenty of big saves. The Capitals should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice.

11-05-24 Canucks v. Ducks +212 5-1 Loss -100 9 h 3 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Vancouver Canucks have been shaky. They have dropped two of their last three games. They only managed a 3-2 win against a poor Sharks squad on Saturday. The Anaheim Ducks are improved compared to last season. Anaheim is competitive at home where they are 2-2. Furthermore, the Canucks are giving up too many goals and are clearly missing their #1 goalie, Demko. Lankinen has been decent but he is not on the same level as Demko. The Canucks have conceded 15 goals in their last four games. The Ducks defense has been outstanding. They have conceded two or fewer goals in four of their last six games.

11-05-24 Kings +153 v. Wild 5-1 Win 153 7 h 7 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kings are 7-3-3 on the season and stood second in the Pacific Division, two points behind Vegas for the top spot. Additionally, they have won three in a row on the road. Los Angeles stands 13th in the league in goals per game as they score an average of 3.25 goals a night this season.

11-04-24 Devils v. Oilers +112 3-0 Loss -100 9 h 54 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The New Jersey offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.00 goals per game. Johnathan Kovacevic and Jonas Siegenthaler have combined for 4.1 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and easily find open shots on the net.

11-04-24 Kings +129 v. Predators 3-0 Win 129 8 h 27 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Predators are having a rough season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.64 goals per game. Filip Forsberg, Ryan O'Reilly, and Jonathan Marchessault have scored 11 goals and 15 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four skaters have three goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result. The offense has struggled but the defense has also let them down, allowing 3.45 goals per game. Roman Josi and Brady Skjei have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to fire the puck on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Juuse Saros has struggled in the net with a .900 save percentage and a 2.92 goals-against average on 260 shots.

11-03-24 Capitals +1.5 v. Hurricanes 2-4 Loss -115 7 h 32 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Connor McMichael is having a breakout season. The 23-year-old center has collected eight points in his last six games and has already generated 10 points on the season. Jakob Chychrun is in his first season with the Capitals. The 26-year-old has four points and a +5 rating. He is averaging 18 minutes of ice. Chychrun is dealing with an injury and is questionable. The Capitals have solid goaltending. Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren are proven goalies. Thompson has a 3.21 GAA and a weak .876 save % while Lindgren has been outstanding, delivering a sharp 2.62 GAA, an .883 save %, and a 3-2 record. Washington is averaging 4.1 goals per game, good for fifth.

11-02-24 Canucks v. Sharks +246 3-2 Loss -100 11 h 36 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The San Jose Sharks started the season with an ugly nine-game losing streak, earning just a couple of points in the process. Since then, the Sharks have won three consecutive games over the Utah Hockey Club 5-4 in overtime, the Los Angeles Kings 4-2, and the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2. Last Thursday, the Sharks edged the Blackhawks as +135 home underdogs. San Jose outshot Chicago 29-28, and Will Smith led the charge with a couple of goals. The Sharks overcame a 2-1 deficit, and we saw a scoreless third period.

11-02-24 Canadiens v. Penguins -178 1-3 Win 100 8 h 39 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Canadiens have fallen apart early on and I see the Penguins taking advantage and controlling this one at home. The Penguins should create plenty of scoring chances against the Canadiens, who allow 4.18 goals per game, with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Penguins should limit the Canadiens offense, which averages only 2.91 goals per game, with Marcus Pettersson and Kris Letang creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Joel Blomqvist to make plenty of big saves

11-02-24 Blue Jackets v. Capitals -225 2-7 Win 100 6 h 44 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Blue Jackets are putting together a promising season and look to pull off the upset but the Capitals are one of the best teams in the league early on and look to control this game from the first period. The Capitals, who average 4.11 goals per game, should create plenty of scoring chances with Alexander Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Capitals should limit the Blue Jackets' offense with John Carlson and Rasmus Sandin stepping up at the blue line and cutting off angles to the net on the rush while goaltender Logan Thompson steps up and makes plenty of big saves.

11-01-24 Jets v. Blue Jackets +146 6-2 Loss -100 7 h 5 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Blue Jackets followed up their loss to Nashville with wins over Edmonton and New York. They have won three straight home games and will try to make it four wins in a row when they face the Jets. Columbus is averaging 3.89 goals per game. They scored two goals on 26 shots in their win over the Islanders. Damon Severson and Justin Danforth scored a goal apiece for the Blue Jackets, while Cole Sillinger and Ivan Provorov had an assist. Columbus has played well defensively, giving up 2.78 goals per game. They didn’t give up a goal in their last game and will need a similar effort if they want to win this game. Elvis Merzlikins saved all the 26 shots that he faced. He is 2-2-0 with a 2.05 GAA and a .925 save percentage.

10-31-24 Canadiens v. Capitals -195 3-6 Win 100 8 h 59 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Washington Capitals are playing much better at this point than Montreal. Washington has a goals for average of 3.7 and goals against average of 3.0. The Capitals have a pair of solid goalies, therefore there is little difference between who is on the ice or on the bench. Logan Thompson is 4-0-0 with a 3.21 goals against average and Charlie Lindren has a 2.53 GAA.  Montreal has lost 13 of the last 18 games dating back to last season and the Canadians have lost six of the last nine head-to-head versus Washington. The Capitals are 6-1 over the last seven games played and 4-1 in the last five games played on their home ice. Washington will push forward constantly with its attack led by Dylan Stromme, Connor McMichael, Tom Wilson and Alex Ovechkin and pressure the blue line and goal for the Canadiens, which will eventually result in goals for the Capitals.

10-31-24 Bruins v. Hurricanes -170 2-8 Win 100 8 h 57 m Show

Rating; 2 Units

The Bruins look to pull off the upset but the Hurricanes have four wins in a row and look to dominate on their home ice. The Hurricanes, who average 3.38 goals per game, should pile on the goals against the Bruins, who allow 3.40 goals per game, with Sebastian Aho, Martin Necas, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Hurricanes, who allow only 2.38 goals per game, should limit a Bruins offense that averages only 2.70 goals per game with Jaccob Slavin, Dmitry Orlov, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Frederik Andersen to make plenty of big saves. The Hurricanes should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice.

10-30-24 Golden Knights v. Kings +117 3-6 Win 117 10 h 56 m Show

Los Angeles is averaging 3.11 goals per game. They scored three goals on 23 shots in their win over Utah. Joel Edmundson scored two goals for the Kings. Brandt Clarke had a goal and an assist, while Adrian Kempe had two assists. Los Angeles has struggled defensively, giving up 3.22 goals per game. They gave up two goals in their last game and will need a similar effort if they want to win this game. Darcy Kuemper saved 24 of the 26 shots that he faced. He is 2-0-0 with a 3.20 GAA and a .896 save percentage.

10-30-24 Jets v. Red Wings +144 6-2 Loss -100 8 h 32 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Despite Lyon’s 2-2 record, his GAA ranks 6th in the NHL while his SV% puts him at 3rd-best in the league. He has allowed just 9 goals this season while saving 140 of 149 total shots.

10-28-24 Flames +146 v. Golden Knights 0-5 Loss -100 10 h 18 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Adin Hill emerged victorious last time out, surrendering four goals on 39 shots in that 6-4 win to the Senators. It wasn’t a bad performance, but Hill has been shaky so far, allowing at least three goals in each of his five starts. I think the Flames stand a chance of upsetting the odds even though the Golden Knights’ offense has done a magnificent job through the first three weeks of the season. Calgary can score goals, too, and Dan Vladar has been solid in four starts this season. The Flames have recorded five points in three road games so far, and I’m backing them to hang around against Vegas.

10-26-24 Sharks +1.5 v. Golden Knights 3-7 Loss -100 10 h 27 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Sharks are off to a poor start this season after losing their first eight games. They put up a good fight in their loss to the Kings, but their rally fell short. They will try to put an end to their losing streak and pick up their first win of the season when they play the Golden Knights.

10-26-24 Blackhawks +1.5 v. Stars 2-4 Loss -100 9 h 31 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Blackhawks have two wins already this season after finishing with just 23 in total last year while earning just 53 points, the second-fewest in the NHL.  The Blackhawks hope that the continued maturation of Bedard will help the team's firepower overall, as well as the return of veteran scorers like Tyler Hall. The Blackhawks are averaging just over 2.5 goals per game to start the season but have been sharp on the power play, scoring on 27 percent of their chances. They are averaging nearly 30 shots per game with their young core.

10-26-24 Panthers v. Islanders +123 6-3 Loss -100 8 h 5 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

New York averages 2.17 goals per game. They didn’t score a goal in their loss to Detroit despite taking 30 shots. Noah Dobson leads New Jersey with four points from four assists. Adam Pelech has three points from three assists, while Bo Horvat has three points from two goals and an assist. New York has played well defensively, giving up 2.50 goals per game. They gave up one goal in their last game and will have to keep it up in order to win this game. Ilya Sorokin saved 10 of the 11 shots that he faced. He is 1-1-1 with a 1.34 GAA and a .947 save percentage.

10-26-24 Jets v. Flames +125 5-3 Loss -100 8 h 39 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Flames are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.57 goals per game. Jonathan Huberdeau and Conor Zary have scored six goals and seven assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Martin Pospisil, Andrei Kuzmenko, and Nazem Kadri have combined for five goals and 10 assists while defensemen Rasmus Andersson and MacKenzie Weegar have added six goals and seven assists from the point to put the offense over the top. The offense has been great but the defense has stepped up as well, allowing only 2.71 goals per game. Rasmus Andersson and MacKenzie Weegar have combined for 2.1 defensive point shares to lead the top pairing while Kevin Bahl, Brayden Pachal, and Jake Bean have combined for 2.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Dustin Wolf has been great with a .936 save percentage and a 2.30 goals-against average on 110 shots with 4.1 goals saved above average.

The offense has struggled but the defense has carried them, allowing only 2.83 goals per game. Moritz Seider and Simon Edvinsson have combined for 1.7 defensive point shares to lead the top two pairings while Ben Chiarot and Justin Holl have combined for 1.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Cam Talbot has struggled with a .907 save percentage and a 3.31 goals-against average on 75 shots.

10-22-24 Penguins v. Flames -115 3-4 Win 100 10 h 35 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Flames have won four of their last five games while the Penguins have lost three of their last five games. Calgary has the edge offensively in this game because they’re playing well offensively, especially at home where they scored nine goals in two games. They have the sixth power play conversion rate and they’re playing a Pittsburgh team that has struggled on special teams in recent games and gave up at least four goals in four of their last five games, so expect them to play well in this game. The Penguins won’t have as much luck offensively because they scored only four goals in their last two games and converted only one of their last six power play opportunities. The Flames have killed eight of their last nine penalties and gave up only three goals in two home games, so expect them to keep Pittsburgh’s offense in check.

10-20-24 Penguins v. Jets OVER 6 3-6 Win 100 5 h 31 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Pittsburgh has been leaky in their own end. We’ve seen the Penguins give up at least three goals in each of their six games and they have surrendered at least four in four of them. It’s tough to have faith in Pittsburgh given their defensive zone issues, especially on the road against a team that is hot.

10-17-24 Canucks v. Panthers -101 3-2 Loss -101 7 h 29 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Canucks look to win their first game of the season but the Panthers are having a great season and look to take over this game. The Panthers, who have scored 3.40 goals per game, should create plenty of scoring chances with Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Panthers should limit the Canucks offense, which has scored only eight goals in the first three games, with Gustav Forsling, Aaron Ekblad, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to make plenty of big saves. The Panthers should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice.

10-17-24 Devils v. Senators +121 3-1 Loss -100 7 h 43 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Senators are off to a great start with their offense leading the way, scoring 12 goals in the first three games. Tim Stutzle, Brady Tkachuk, and Josh Norris have scored five goals and 10 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also been great. Drake Batherson, Zach MacEwen, and Shane Pinto have combined for four goals and three assists while defensemen Jake Sanderson, Nick Jensen, and Thomas Chabot have added two goals and five assists from the point to open up the offense.

Goalie Dan Vladar improved to 2-0 on the season after turning away 24-of-25 shots. Anthony Mantha, Justin Kirkland, and Connor Zary all chipped in with a goal as well. The Flames are now 3-0-0 to start the season, including 2-0 on the road.

10-15-24 Panthers -149 v. Blue Jackets 4-3 Win 100 8 h 13 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Panthers are better than their record indicates and they look to step up and take over this game on the road. The Panthers, who have scored 13 goals in their first four games, should create plenty of scoring chances with Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Panthers should limit the Blue Jackets offense with Gustav Forsling, Aaron Ekblad, and the rest of the defensive unit stepping up at the blue line and creating turnovers while goaltender Spencer Knight steps up and blanks the shots on the net. The Panthers should win the game with a dominant performance on the road.

Washington's Charlie Lindgren stopped 28 of 32 shots against the Devils, but former Golden Knight Logan Thompson could face his former club while also making his Capitals debut Tuesday. Acquired in a summer trade by Washington, Thompson went 56-32-11 with a 2.67 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage over 103 games spanning the previous four seasons with Vegas. However, Thompson is looking for a fresh start in Washington after essentially sharing the net with Hill over the past 1 1/2 seasons.

Dylan Strome is the best center on this squad. The 27-year-old enjoyed the best season of his career last year, collecting 67 points. Strome was a big threat against the Devils last season, amassing three goals and two assists in four meetings. Alex Ovechkin managed to net 31 goals and 34 assists last season and is striving to reach Wayne Gretzky’s record. The Capitals have a solid goalie in Charlie Lindgren who was a big reason they made the playoffs. The 30-year-old net minder generated a 2.67 GAA and a sharp .911 save % accompanied by a 25-16-7 record last season.

10-10-24 Penguins +122 v. Red Wings 6-3 Win 122 10 h 44 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Penguins averaged 3.09 goals per game last season yet in their first game, the offense forgot to show up as they were shutout in the defeat. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scored 69 goals and 92 assists to lead the top line but they'll have to replace star skater Jake Guentzel, who scored 22 goals and 30 assists last season. The hope is that Kris Letang and Erik Karlsson continue opening up the offense from the point as they added 21 goals and 86 assists at the blue line.

10-08-24 Blues v. Seattle Kraken -145 3-2 Loss -145 6 h 19 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Kraken head into this season with a new and improved roster and I see them taking over this game on both ends of the ice. The Kraken should constantly find the back of the net against a Blues defense that allowed 3.03 goals per game last season, with Jared McCann, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with centering and cross-ice passes while Vince Dunn and Brandon Montour generate shots on the net from the blue line. The Kraken should limit the Blues offense with Vince Dunn, Jamie Oleksiak, and the rest of the defense creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Joey Daccord to make plenty of big saves. The Kraken should win the game with a strong performance at home.

06-24-24 Oilers -103 v. Panthers 1-2 Loss -103 8 h 45 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Panthers are hoping to win on their home ice but the Oilers have all the momentum and have taken over this series, making them sure to take over this game for the first period. The Oilers, who have scored 18 goals in the last three games, should find the back of the net at will with Connor McDavid, Zach Hyman, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with effective puck movement while Evan Bouchard generates shots on the net from the point. The Oilers, who have only allowed 16 goals in this series, should limit the Panthers offense with Evan Bouchard, Mattias Ekholm, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Stuart Skinner to seal the game with multiple big saves. The Oilers should win Game Seven to complete the first reverse sweep in a Final since 1942.

05-31-24 Oilers v. Stars -122 3-1 Loss -122 9 h 42 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

What started as a best-of-seven series is now down to a best-of-three set as the venue shifts back to Dallas. The big question mark surrounding this one is the availability of Chris Tanev, who took a shot off his foot in the second period of Game 4. He did not return and was seen Thursday morning limping in a walking boot at the Edmonton airport. Tanev is an integral part of the defense corps for the Stars and his presence in limiting McDavid, Draisaitl and Hyman is important. With that said, the Stars have played better at home defensively in this series and that, plus the home crowd, gives them something to feed off. Look for Dallas to take a 3-2 series lead as they pick up the home win.

05-26-24 Rangers v. Panthers UNDER 5.5 5-4 Loss -130 4 h 45 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Panthers have controlled the series for the most part despite their offense struggling and scoring only four goals in the first two games. Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Bennett, and Matthew Tkachuk have scored four goals and three assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. In addition, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has been great in this series, stopping 52 of the 54 shots he's faced. While the Ranger's Igor Shesterkin has stepped up in the net, saving 50 of the 53 shots he's faced.

05-24-24 Panthers v. Rangers +102 1-2 Win 102 7 h 2 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Rangers were embarrassed in Game One and they look to bounce back on their home ice and take over this game from the first period. The Rangers, who have scored 35 goals in the playoffs, should constantly find the back of the net with Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Rangers look to limit the Panthers' offense with Adam Fox, K'Andre Miller, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Igor Shesterkin to make plenty of big saves. The Rangers should win Game Two to even up the series with a strong performance on their home ice.

05-23-24 Oilers v. Stars -126 3-2 Loss -126 11 h 49 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Edmonton’s chances at success in this series hinge heavily on two things. The first is the production from their top line of Hyman, McDavid and Draisaitl, who are dangerous but did have some dry spells in the series with Vancouver. Second, they’re going to have to get Dallas to play undisciplined to get the man advantage and then capitalize on those situations: after all, the Oilers are #1 in the playoffs in power play success. The problem for the Oilers, at least in the first two games, is that Dallas gets last change so expect Chris Tanev to be on the ice whenever the 97/18/29 line is out there. He handcuffed Jack Eichel’s line in the opening round and Nathan MacKinnon’s line in the second round: neither line scored when Tanev was on the ice in five-on-five situations. One also has to consider the goaltending situation. Edmonton faced a team with no real clear cut goalie (the Kings) in the opening round and faced a third-string goaltender in the Vancouver series. They now face a definitive #1 netminder in Oettinger, who had success against the Oilers in the regular season. That carries over here as the Stars take Game 1 of the series with a home win here.

05-20-24 Oilers v. Canucks +142 3-2 Loss -100 11 h 15 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

No team has won back-to-back games in this series, which doesn’t bode well for the Oilers. Vancouver has held a one-game lead three times in the series only to see the Oilers even things up on all three occasions. This is one of those situations where the pressure is on the stars, which means McDavid and Draisaitl in particular. Edmonton has dropped two of the three games in Vancouver in this series after losing both meetings during the regular season there as well. If Vancouver generates the chances that we saw in the series prior to Game 6, they should be in good shape. Skinner bounced back nicely in Game 6 after being pulled in Game 3 and sitting the next two contests. Still, he’s been shaky in the postseason and it’s tough to have faith in a guy with an .822 save percentage in the series. Silovs hasn’t been stellar either at .879 but give the edge to the Canucks as they advance.

05-18-24 Canucks +1.5 v. Oilers 1-5 Loss -154 10 h 11 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Edmonton has thrived in the postseason thanks to their success on special teams but when they fail to deliver, the Oilers struggle. We saw that in Game 5: while the Oilers continued to stifle the Canucks’ power play, they went zero for five with the man advantage. The inability to generate offensive production with the man advantage showed that the Oilers have had issues sustaining success at five-on-five. Pickard did his part in Game 5 but the trio of McDavid, Draisaitl and Zach Hyman combined for six shots, one assist and a -6. The pressure is on Edmonton here and they may escape with a win but take the puck line.

05-17-24 Panthers v. Bruins +128 2-1 Loss -100 10 h 22 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

The Panthers have been the better team throughout the series but the Bruins look to step up on home ice and take over this game. The Bruins should create plenty of scoring chances with David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick cross-ice and centering passes. The Bruins, who have only allowed four goals in the last two games, should limit the Panthers offense with Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jeremy Swayman to make plenty of big saves. The Bruins should win Game Six to force a winner-take-all game and provide great odds in the process as home Underdogs.

05-16-24 Oilers v. Canucks +131 2-3 Win 131 13 h 23 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Edmonton has been inconsistent in this series though they did turn in their best showing defensively in Game 4 of the series. The problem for the Oilers remains the fact that their goaltending situation is fluid, which isn’t what you want to have in the postseason. Skinner has been dismal in this series and Pickard allowed the Canucks to rally in the third period to tie the game before Bouchard won it in the final minute. Silovs has held his own after being thrust into the starting role after Thatcher Demko, then Casey DeSmith suffered injuries. The Canucks have been playing solid enough hockey and if they stay out of the box, it makes things that much tougher for Edmonton. Five of the Oilers’ 14 goals in the series have come with the man advantage. Look for Vancouver to make the Oilers grind it out and that’s a major ask for the Oilers. Look for the Canucks to feed off the home crowd and regain home-ice advantage by prevailing in Game 5 here.

05-13-24 Stars v. Avalanche OVER 6.5 5-1 Loss -101 9 h 56 m Show

Rating: 2 Units

Dallas stands tied for 7th in the league in goals per game as they average 2.80 goals per contest in postseason play. The Stars stand 4th in the league in goals against as they allow an average of 2.40 goals a night this season. Dallas is 4th when it comes to success on the power play as they convert on 29.2% of their chances with the man advantage this season. Colorado heads into this one 1st in the league in goals per game as they average 4.50 goals a night in the postseason. The Avalanche are 11th in goals against as they allow an average of 3.38 goals a contest. Colorado is tied for 2nd in the league with the man advantage as they convert 33.3% of their chances with the man advantage.
