Both teams are swinging the bat well and Minute Maid Park lets balls hit well get out in a hurry. That doesn't make it much of a pitcher's park and we felt, early on, that last night's game was going way over - the Astros just didn't connect when they needed to. Solid, early leads like that are almost impossible to overcome. We don't see that happening tonight with Greinke on the mound. Greinke is a true pitcher and should force an out, or even more in high stress situations. The other Astros pitchers, so far, haven't done that. 4-Unit Play: Take 972 GIANTS/DODGERS OVER 7 RUNS (7:07pm, E, Thursday, October 14) LAD: Urias. SF: Webb In years past, you might take the Under in this game, but things have changed. It used to be that each team would take 4-5 innings feeling the other out, before they would open it up. If a team does that now, they could be down 5 runs, before they get aggressive and, basically, be out of it. Look for both teams to score and clear the ?7? hurdle fairly easily.

Rodon was the correct pitcher in the rotation, but he liked the feel of starting Cease and, we have to say, when Tony LaRussa has a feeling, history proves it's usually a good one. What that also means is that two great pitchers are available tonight, too. The White Sox will come out hungry, aggressive and will pull out all the stops to win this game. You'll see the Giants play their hearts out (as probably will the Dodgers) and we think the two teams are fairly evenly matched. Therefore, with a full house in San Fran and Gausman on the mound, we're giving the nod, and a heavy one, to the San Francisco Giants. The field can play weird in high winds and, of course, the Giants are used to it. Balls to the outfielders, or beyond, can be tricky to play. We're on the Giants, at least while they're in San Fran.

Why would you take the over then, you say, especially with two great pitchers? When the wind is blowing in, hard, it reduces the ?stuff? pitchers have and reduces how much the ball moves. It may start to move, but then the wind just makes it want to straighten out. These two good pitchers, with good stuff, might give up 12 runs, or so. 5-Unit Play: Take 969 TEXAS RANGERS -1.5, RL, +135 OVER ORIOLES (7:05pm E, Thursday, September 23) TEX: OTTO. BAL: LOWTHER We rarely would take Texas in a spot like this, but they should be able to get all over Lowther and Otto should keep the Orioles at bay. This is a weird one, but we see Texas winning it easily.

CLE: Civale These teams have seen one another and one another's pitchers plenty this year and the White Sox are definitely the better team. This should be a walk in the park for the White Sox, starting early.

They also want to show off their offense for the playoffs - again, they will. We should pick up a lot of units with this game.

They love home games, where they’re the favorite and they need this game. They should have no problem with Seattle tonight.

4-Unit Play: Take 929 MINNESOTA TWINS -1.5, RL, +145 OVER CUBS (7:40pm E, Wednesday, September 22) CUB: Hendricks. MIN: Ryan We’re getting to the last couple of weeks of the regular season and some teams have more incentive, and dig deeper, than others. The Twins have to dig deep – the Cubs? Well, they’re just the just the same old Cubs, but they do have their ace on the hill, so the Twins need to get to him early. The wind will be blowing in at about 25 mph, so the best hitting team will win this game and that much wind over Hendrick’s shoulder, will take a lot of the stuff off the ball, so he shouldn’t be nearly as dominant as he usually is. We were so tempted to take the Over 7 Runs, but we’ll leave that one for Cinci.

5-Unit Play: Take 956 MILWAUKEE BREWERS -1.5, RL, OVER CARDINALS (7:40pm E, Tuesday, September 21) STL: Woodford. MIL: Woodruff The Cardinals have been on a positive streak, lately and the Brewers don't like that much. They've seen this scenario with the Cards and the playoffs too many times before, and with the Cards beating them at home last night, look for the Brew Crew to show why they should own that division and why they should be a force to be reckoned with against the Cardinals today and in the, soon to come, playoffs.

Look for Cleveland to come out aggressive on the pads and swinging for the fences today and win this one, with Quantrill on the mound.

5-Unit Play: Take 966 DETROIT TIGERS OVER WHITE SOX (1:10pm E, Tuesday, September 21) CWS: Keuchel. DET: Alexander The Tigers have played the 2nd half of the season like champs. They'd be a force in the playoffs had they not had such a poor 1st half. They still have incentive, however, and love beating, what will be playoff teams, at home. They should do it again today against the White Sox.
